Ferndale Pk

Hi didiaust
It's OK, can get a bit crowded at weekends, especially long ones, some reasonable tracks in the area, and Barrington Tops not far away. If you camp near the facilities it can get to be a bit like the CBD, camping in the paddock is nicer bit a fair distance from facilities, fine if you have your own. Otherwise a nice spot.

Hi,

Not sure what normal weekends are like these days, but they used to be very quiet, especially heading into this time of year. Looks as though Ian has opened up the bull paddock on a more regular basis these days, but there is only 1 source with 4 outlets in the paddock. If you need power you may be better off closer to the facilities.

Ferndale had showers and toilets, a little dated but they keep them clean and there was no real queuing over Xmas when we were there. Ice is available from the office (most times). Firewood may also be available, especially if you give them a hand to split a few loads.

If you are self sufficient, there are a couple of nice spots on the other side ofthe causeway.

Overall, it's a nice laid back place. Can get cool there and there is often the unexpected shower of rain.

Regards,

Michael
