Honda EU2. They are the best small engine builder and all others TRY and copy.

I got a Yamaha 1000 efs and it is fantastic. Its biggest pluses are its lightweight(14kg I think) and it very low 56db of noise.
It also uses only a tank every 6-7 hours.

The quiet operation is vital as you will be in totally quiet surroundings.
What may seem a low level of noise on a building site will be a deafening roar on an outback night

Kipor is now handled by Primus Australia and the support is wonderful.

I know, they have replaced my faulty Kipor that was under warranty, but supplied by the previous importer.

Why a generator should fail, with little use, in less than a year is another thing to consider.

When they used to be about half the price of an Honda, it may have made sense, but the price differential has narrowed.

Jim.

With Kipor now being represented by Primus, is a big plus.
The new series 2, all come pre-tested, and 2 year warranty.
Previous series 1 model, first aus models, were not pre-tested, and proved problematic.
Any retailer selling Pirmus can handle Primus warranties with proof of purchase so service/warranty network is pretty large. You would have Hedland and Karratha.
End of the day without doubt the Japanese have been leaders in this field for years, and offer super quality product. However Kipor have a good product and at a great price. You are still getting digital inverter technology, so would go with $ savings.
I camp with these genies heaps and are super quiet.
FYI i own Yamaha and now GS2000 kipor.
