does anyone have some up dated news on cobourg pen we have heard conflicting stories about the place is the store completely shut down meaning no fuel can be bought and is the place really worth the drive we like remote
places and enjoy the adventure but is it worth the drive from
perth , might be better off going somehwhere else in the NT any info welcome cheers.

Not sure why you need the store to go there? We were there a few years ago and only went to the store for some ice as we planned to be self sufficient.
We in mate's Patrol and were towing a boat as
well.
Make sure you fuel up at Alligator River (Cahill's Crossing) and maybe carry a few jerrys to be on the safe side.
What sort of vehicle do you have and how much fuel does it carry?

There is no fuel at the border store any more, so your last chance to fuel up is
Jabiru or Oenpelli , I would suggest
Jabiru, remember no alcohol to be taken across the river.
There is so much more to see up there than the
shop.

You can drink it in Cobourg, you just can't take it there via Oenpelli through to cobourg.
