roll out awning tensioning

i have a roll out awning on my van and would like to know how to tension it up, any help would be appreciated. cheers

G'day,

Once I have mine rolled out and before I tighten the arms up, I tension it by turning the lever to close and roll the awning so it is tensioned up some, then I pull down on the awning and tighten the arm off

This way the awning finishes over the barrel if you get my drift...and by doing this water cannot fill the awning either.

This is the correct method of doing it...very hard to put in words as you can see, but try to ROLL barrel of the awning away from the van.

thanx for that dunco but that is not what i meant . i want to know how to tension the awning up for when it is rolled up back to the van , cheers
