Thinking of acquiring a Pathfinder Ti to tow 2400 kgs. vehicle is rated at 3000kg - any experiences out there?

Howdy Robert, I have no first hand experience, but from what I have read I believe you will struggle at 2400 Kg let alone the three tonne

I'm about to take delivery of a Navara ST-X which is essentially the same. All my research indicates it will do fine include pulling my 2.6 23ft Sterling.
I think it important you get advice, especially from those who don't have one as they bring a new perspective to understanding the capabilities of such vehicles.

Hi Robert,
I have an Pathfinder R51 '05 deisel, and find it pretty powerful. Obvioulsy the manual would be a struggle but auto would be fine.
You could read up more at
http://pcoa.org.au (Pathfinders' Club of Australia) were I am a member.
Hope this can help your decision.
Cheers,
Darrin

Don't put the standard Nissan towbar on it. Use the hayman reese unit as the Nissan one apparently breaks too easily.
(several threads about this on caravan forums)
The pathy can handle 2400 with relative ease.

Robert
There were huge problems with the dealer fitted tow bar when the new pathy came out. I believe thay have been resolved, but to be on the safe side I would be insisting on a Hayman Reese tow bar before I even thought about towing that weight. Have a look athe Pathfinder site for more info:
