Have purchased my new 100 series with all the goodies including Milford barrier and full drawer set in the back. Now with 2 grand kids on the way, suddenly realized how do I attach a car seat for their safe transport. I think the attachment points have probably been removed or are buried somewhere! Do I have to put the kids in the drawers or is there a better answer?

Is the draw set a recognized brand, or a home jobby?

If a brand name, they should be able to give advise.
The child restraint anchor points are under the draw system and proberbly used by them.

It is a Tanami Drawers set up which luckily are on the Mornington Peninsula where we live, have already had him fix up the drawers a bit but didn't think of the car seat till this week . I will check with the guy but don't like my chances of getting far.
Thanks Mac

I have the Black Widow and it has child restraints fitted at the back of the drawers. Most manufacturers recognise the need for these and either fit them automatically or on request.

Thanks Mark, will be checking with the Tanami guy tomorrow. The original owner would not have needed car seats I don't think.
When Fourby Fitouts did the drawers in my Prado I recall being given bits back including anchors and I had no discussion about fittings with them as I didn't need them then.
P.S. your rig sounds like it has even more stuff than mine ! (Except I do have Turbo & front & rear Diff lockers) and a Barrett which is my next learning curve.

If you don't do any good with the bloke at Tanami, give me a call on 9706 6527. There is a simple fix and I can talk you through how to do it.

Met you up at Yarra Dam a while back when camping with Bill and Pauline.

Hey there Granny Mac,

Not sure if it will help for fitting two seats (think the support strap has to be straight back?) but may be able to do something with this? On my 105 series there is an attachment point in the centre of the roof near the trim at the back door.

If you check your owners manual it should be listed in there. All I needed was an extension strap (for single seat fitment), most baby seat manufacturers sell them (about $20) and all sorted.

Ross.

Thanks Ross
I will only need one seat hopefully, have a one child at a time policy for looking after grandchildren. LOL.
Can't see any roof attachments , my Subaru had those and they were good for the last crop of grand kids. The manual seems to indicate they should be on the floor behind the second row of seats. That now seems to be covered by the drawers and is of course behind the cargo barrier, so I can't figure how you could run a strap over the barrier anyway. My hope is there must be some people out there with mini kids who still have their truck set up for touring.
