I'm thinking of escaping the rain on the coast this long weekend to spend a coupla nights in Abercrombie national park. Has anybody been out there recently, very dry when I was last there March 07, is it getting any of this rain?

Taralga to the south had 8mm yesterday.
Oberon to the north had 14 mm
We in the blue mountains had 42 mm.
From the BOM site it looks like it is coming from the north east and very little is getting over the ranges YET, but stay tuned.

We were there in Feb this year. Really nice place and quiet. Only came across 2 other cars during the whole weekend.
We camped at The Beach which would be the pick of the
places. The Sink isn't too bad either although you're not really meant to have a C/T there. NPWS have cabled the
carpark from the
camping area but depending on the number of people, you could park right next to the
camp area.
I'd avoid Silent Creek - there was no water in the creek!! Both the Beach and Silent Creek are suitable for C/Ts.
In terms of rain and wet tracks, getting to The Sink should be okay. Exiting the park to east via Brass Walls Rd should be avoided in wet weather.
See this link for Trip Report;

Cheers.

Gawd, this weather is frustrating, for camping trips and that I travel to work on a motorcycle. I'm thinking about
Bendethera now, looks clear down there?

Just a couple of facts, our main
dam at
Oberon is 16% and still falling, Level 5 at 15% .The country all over the Central Tablelands is very dry with
farm dams falling and its not looking good. Rainfall this week has been really minimal to say the least, so the Abercrombie Nat Pk is the same, so better take some drinking water in with you. Have a good w/end ,I will be working.
