Over the last couple days the location
Tennant Creek has totally vanished from the Fuel Price page of the
Shell.com.au web page. When last given it was very close to the magic figure of $2/litre.
A guide to the price in the
Tennant Creek area was handy for travellers in planning a trip to Alice or
Darwin from Isa direction or reverse. Am wondering if it has been dropped to avoid panicking travellers even more because it has reached the magic figure or is there another reason?

Last year we were travelling from alice to
katherine when we were passed by a small
sedan....on the boot lid he had a piece of foam on top of which he had placed a petrol tank out of another vehicle, the whole lot secured with duct tape and rope.."His long range tank"...probably so he did not have to stop at
tennant creek, LOL....he was too quick for me to get a photo of his set-up...I love it when in this day of correctness that despite the odds, people just do it anyway.

Sounds like one of the legendary aboriginal "bush mechanics" jobs.

Don't worry about it - just wait until Israel attacks Iran's nuclear facilities and we'll see petrol at... say... A$3 per litre?
