Hi,

We have a Jayco Swan outback that we need some modes done to. We want to have the jerry can holder removed and replaced with Dual Gas bottle holders, also considering mods at the rear, removing the bumper and putting metal boxes on the back and then replacing the bumper. I'm looking for help locating the right person to complete this type of work in Brisbane. Also any advice regarding the boxes at the rear - looking for tips on what we should do there. Thanks in advance for any advice

regards

Graham

Have you thought about contacting Kedron offroad vans :-10 Strathwyn Street, Brendale Q. 4500
Phone: (07) 3881 3383
If they wont do it for you they may be able to tell you who would. Plus they would have the bits you want fitted.
And as Usuall no affilliation to the above people just have delt with them whilst repairing vans. Found them very helpful.

When making any mods to a Swan that involves carrying additional weight, check that the chassis can actually withstand the extra load without flexing. If chassis flexes, you will notice that it is hard to either close or open the door. A common issue with such vans of that design. Can easily be overcome by having the near-side chassis-rail plated - front to rear and especially forward of the axle.

Just a thought, you don't really need to do away with the jerry can holder. Have a look at my rig pics.
