G'day David,

by the response to the first three, no, but probably need to build up some steam and offer some prizes, that's were ExplorOz comes in I guess. I always enjoyed it but the filtering of answers meant I (and I am sure many others) knew the place but were deemed "incorrect."

I reckon it is a great medium for us mob to post some pics and learn about some of the country we may not have been to, or share where we have.

Why was it pulled? Did you run out of pics for the comp? It did appear that it was not monitored much by EO staff towards the end and this created frustration when clues were not forthcoming and hints to that effect went unheard.

what am I saying? yes or no? well it fizzed out through frustration I guess. Some good effforts like "provide a caption for this" and the History photo were good. So, there is plenty of photos out there, just need to find the best mechanism to do it by I guess.

initial thoughts anyway.......

I was kind of thinking that we could do it different and provide a basic image uploader link gallaery and have you enter the answer in the description field and then we could just cycle through the images as loaded. Of course the usual thing happens in judging if it is right - we cannot really have a human do it so it would have to be as entered in the description for the pic - which could have errors with typo's and the rest.

Damian and I are talking about it however give us your ideas and we will see what gives.

Hi David
Yep, I did win one of them (Eel Pool) and I enjoyed the comp. I think the problem toward the end was that they went too long - Maybe you could have some automation built in that provides clues after 2, 3 and 4 days of no correct answer eg after 2 days provide the State as a clue, then the Region etc

by jove you've got it!

other way around though....if you notice the sand and low scrub...it is heading towards Mt Ragged (which you can see in the centre of the pic) on the Gora Track, somewhere just north of Tookle Jenna.

Davoe and joc45 must have been at work eh?

G'day brushmarx,

what can you tell me about the Minnie Creek track? I can't find anyone who has done it or any info on it. I almost did it last year but unfortunately a bush fire ruled that out......

btw, I would not expect to see white sand on the Minnie Creek track.....

Hi Bushfix
In the immortal words of Sgt Schultz " I Know Nothing"
I tried to cheat and had a look at your pictures in your EO profile, and picked one that looked like a fit.
Sorry, but can't help you with any info about the place.
Cheers
