Many moons ago I went on a 4Wd track from Helensburgh to Campbelltown. This was supposedly a track that was used in the horse and buggy days.

I was wondering if anybody knows if this track is still in operation and if so how do I find the entry - exit point?

I don't know of that one- but I'd reckon a lot of it would be thru Water Board and Dharwel restricted areas ??
If you find out more- I'd be interested !!

Dont know either, from Helensburgh, you used to be able to go to Garrawarra, but that is closed now. t is all National Park and Water board, so while it may have been possible b4, not now

Have never used the Helensburgh entrance which was opposite the F6 interchange to Helensburgh. Used to use the Darkes Forest entrance years ago onto the Fire Trail.

The creek may be a bit of a challenge nowadays, (don't know) it was very slippery back a few years ago.
The Campbelltown entrance (or exit) was on Feres Road where it joined Georges River road and the creek below this was a real beauty. Remember being there one Sunday morning and there were 3 Series 1's all with broken axles after having tried to get up the creek bank out of the water.
Haven't been along this track for years now but would not be surprised if the Water Board have closed it. They were talking about putting gates on Feres road about 10 years ago
If you try the eastern end go down the Princes Highway about 1.5 km south of the F6 interchange to Helensburgh towards Darkes Forest and look for the track opposite the old farmhouse. May have a Fire Trail 9H sign on it.

Hang on look down the page a bit, Redback says its closed.

I finish nightshift tomorrow morning and have a break coming up I guess i'll have to have a wander down the road and see what I can find.
I'm too old and poor to be doing illegal forays onto crown, catchment or NPWS land... LOL

Found some possible looking lines on my Mapsource T4A software, I'll get back to you guys.

So the only thing missing was a place to go !

I guess with a little notice it would be fairly easy to organise something.

Not too far to head down to Nowra. Some great tracks out the back of Wandandian and off the Nerriga Rd.

Can then meet up with the South Coast EO Chapter

Hi Diane the track out to boat harbour is still open but I think it costs around $16 for the day out there and they have closed a fair bit off these days so there isn't any big dunes to climb anymore.
Cheers
