I'm looking at a 1988 SWB turbo (petrol) Pajero. It's imported from Japan and looks spotless. It's already registered. Are there any special problems with buying an import like this? Are the engines the same as those used here? What about other parts? Thanks.

Insurance shouldn't be a problem - I have mine with VACC - no worries (have imported Terrano)

Patric.
The motor in that vehicle was made in Adeliade and then shipped to Japan to come back in the complete vehicle, Parts won't be a problem. Eric.

I imported a Jap Pajero from NZ to Au 2 years ago. '91 Exceed with all the bells and whistles AAMI assessor said it was the same as an Au model as far as panels etc and insured it the same as a Au model so insurance shouldn't be a problem
