Well I finally after 7 months got my Telstra contract Cancelled and said goodby to the LG550 on Next-G it was usless.I have updated to the Nokia 6120 and already have full single inside my house something I missed out on with the LG.
The 6120 seems to have a much better internal antenna voice calls much clearer to hear also,so Ihope it still gets the same when I travel I cant see why it wont as it has many more bars than my LG ever had.
So thanks to you all for the
feedback on that thread above for the onfo I hope it also helped someone else out too.

after a trial with the 165 i now have a better service and although the car kit and cradle were pricey , its worth a look (telstra paid for the car kit i bought the cradle), certainly glad to be rid of the 500 . so hopefully no more cut outs and no signal losses
