Hi all,

I may need to extend the microphone lead on the TX3440. Has anyone done this and if so what parts are needed?

G'day Avan

Yep the lead Ed suggests should do it. It's just a 4 pair data cable (Cat5 will do) with an 8 pin RJ socket one end and 8 pin RJ plug the other.

The TX3440 comes with the curly cord and an extension piece. I assume that extension piece is too short? A cheaper alternative would be to use the 8 pin joiner they supply with the 3440 and buy an 8 pin computer patch lead (blue) to the length you want. Hope I make sense?

It is pretty dificult to get RJ Sockets for cables, Plug to plug with a F-F joiner is probably the go. Also pre-wired RJ 45 to RJ 45 are almost certainly going to be wired for Ethernet pinouts ( they are not 1 to 1). This may or may not work depending on the wiring for GME.

Hi oldpop

The GME TX3440 does not have the speaker in the handpiece, it is in the UHF body as is normal for most UHFs.

The 3440 has all the controls on the handsets as per photo below

Cheers
