We have seen a lot of OZ - 2 years travel with van and 4WD plus many shorter trips to remote areas such as across the Simpson (it was 53 degrees!), GibbRiver Road, Mt Augustus,
Cape York etc. We definitely prefer to get out of the city and are happy in tents and can handle minimal water etc It's now time to check out Africa. Has anyone done any travelling in southern Africa that involves camping 4WD etc. Any suggestions re websites etc would be welcome.

Wow Ali. I set out to tour Australia some 4 years ago and still have not been out of W.A. with about 400
places I would have liked to see. Unfortunatley, my age and health precudes me from travelling now so my touring will be restricted to the wonderful postings in this
forum

I haven't done any 4x4 stuff there for the past 25 years but there are heaps of 4x4 tracks. Trouble is everything is so commercialised now and most tracks are on private land
Here are some South African Magazine websites
www.leisurewheels.com,
www.driveout.co.za,
www.sa4x4.co.za
Cheers
