Hello All,
We are thinking of purchasing a new 2008 Jeep Cherokee Limited 2.8L Diesel (CRD)
Can anyone give us some feedback on how well they tow a caravan?
We own a Jayco Expanda pop top 16.49, Tow ball weight 130kg & tare weight 1280kg.
As we have never owned a 4x4 we would appreciate all views
Cheers
Viv

Hi Viv,
I have the Wrangler version and don't expect there to be any problems with that weight.
I always err on the side of lowering transmission temp with an extra cooler, thats all.
The only other thing I would recommend is to get some Ks on the diffs before subjecting them to the greater load of towing,

Howdy Viv,
I second that. Good towing vehicle, a mate owns one. Tows his old Viscount no worries. Run it in without a trailer for a while though, you do the car a favour. Nothing worse for a new motor and running gear to be subject to heavy towing from the start.
Cheers, Udo

Thanks guys the old boy will be pleased.
Looks like we can put one on order then. It takes up to 3 months before delivery.
Cheers Viv
