To those that may not be aware and may own the new GME TX6100 radio there has been a recall on these units.

Dave

From gme.net.au

VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL
Model TX6100
GME 5W UHF Handheld RadioStandard Communications is recalling the TX6100 5W UHF Handheld Radio.
The affected units were sold between April 2008 and June 2008 and are labelled TX6100. This model number can be found directly below the GME brand name on the front cover of the radio.
The TX6100 has been used in both the commercial and recreational radio markets. This recall affects the TX6100 exclusively, no other GME radios are affected.
The battery of the radio poses a potential fire risk. Purchasers of the TX6100 should contact Standard Communications for a replacement battery or refund.

Dave,
Thanks for the heads-up!

I purchased one o' those a few weeks ago (it ain't caught fire yet;-)).. Presumably, the dealer from whom I purchased it will be in touch in due course (??)..

In any case,I'll give GME a bell in the mornin' & find out
"What's the go?"..................
