Peter,

May I also suggest that you update the original thread so that someone who finds the negative thread can read to the end to find it was resolved. This ensures that a negative thread towards the supplier is closed and does not leave the issue open.

Peter,

I notice that you have done it. All I meant was to load a reply stating that it had been resolved and you have done this so thanks.

We had one of the original Coleman's. It was a dud.

We got a new one as a replacement.

Very happy campers.

Jim.

It's not the problem or the fault that you remember, it's the service..!

Every brand , service and product has a problem or fault at one point or another, it's how it's dealt with that matters.

I had a mate with a $20k Etec Outboard engine that was a real lemon from day one, after 16 months of unscheduledservice visits, repairs and mods they finally replaced the engine with a new one, he is happy now as he has an engine that does what it was supposed to do..! He went from hating Etec to loving them.!

Suffice to say they don't make a habit of doing that, but it had become such an issue Etec would have been faced with being ragged in every Internet forum that exists if they didn't replace the engine. Coleman did the smart thing because their brand will not have been damaged, it will be made stronger because we have read about them here doing the right thing.

Hi Peter
Just came across your thread about coleman and thought I'd add my two cents worth. We bought a coleman hot water on demand and it worked at first but then a clip in the knob on the front broke off rendering it useless. We returned it to BCF who rang coleman and they authorised an immediate replacement. Unfortunately this unit didn't work at all (never did find out why) and once again BCF and coleman arranged for a replacement. This one took a little longer as they had no more in stock but I'm pleased to report that we have used this unit continuously for the last two months without problems and have found it terrific.
So now happy customers of both BCF and Coleman.
Cheers
Terri
