Hi all,
I am finally off on my big trip from
Darwin to
Wiluna then onto the CSR and back home. I started some long service leave today. After a year of planning and buckets of cash on the mighty Patrol I am off tomorrow morning. I would just like to thank all those you have given me a little bit of information here and there. A lot of you do not even know that I have actually read your
forum posts and have got a lot out of them. I will give a detailed brief when I get back around 18 July. Hopefully I will see some of you out there. Don't be strangers.
Cheers
Dave
P.S Kiwiangler - Your last post on the Calvert Ranges was spot on. Now I have a permit my trip will become complete, Cheers mate.

You may meet up with Ken & Olga from Misty Mountains 4WD. They'll have a tag-a-long group. Leaving Alice on July 1 to
Halls Creek.
Have a great trip..
Cheers
Dave

Dave and Shelley
Enjoy!
And spend some time walking up most of the small gorges in the Calvert Ranges. There is so much art in the form of rock paintings and petroglyphs it is amazing. Also try and get out to Alberts
Cave and
the rock faces for a couple of hundred metres either side of it.
If haven't looked at my website already read about the Calkvert Ranges
here
Cheers

Hi Willem,
Thanks for the advise. I will try and spend a few days out at the Calvert Ranges and enjoy
the rock art. Nice website mate. I am stoked that I can actually go out their as I had actually removed it from my trip itinery and just accepted not seeing it. I will have to read the Calvert expedition journal now!!!!!!.
Cheers mate

Hi Willem, Dave & Shelley'
I Don't like to be a pain in the A**s BUT, If you have a permit for the CSR it does not allow you to visit the
Calvert Range. I know it's a bugger and where does it all end, having to get permits where ever you go these days

You don't need a permit for the CSR but you need one for the Calvert Ranges and that is how I have read Dave's thread. He has one for the Calvert Ranges.

>Permit holders will be granted access by the traditional owners of the land to operate the nominated vehicle to the specified sites upon and adjacent to the stock route easement<
You do not need a permit for the CSR easement. It is a Public Access Stock Route. AND you may apply for a permit to visit the Calvert Ranges
ANFWDC site has not been updated since 01/05/07 as I see it.

George we are going around in circles.
I do not dispute that particular permit, but it pertains to access to certain Traditional Lands.
You may still drive the CSR without a permit if you no not wish to visit those particular areas
Enough, I'm tired and going to bed
G'nite

Hi guys,
To put everyone's mind at rest, I actually have a CSR permit and a permit for the Calvert Ranges amongst others. Kiwiangler gave me contact details for a man who issues the permit for the rages on behalf of the Martu peoples. The details are on ThreadID: 58842.
Well I am off. Hope to see you guys on the road
Cheers
