We have recently purchased a second hand Pioneer Argyle. A small disappointment is that the gas cooker seems unable to get beyond a gentle flame. Has anyone out there got advice on how to get a bit more vavoom out of it?

Hello there,

Might be able to help here, but first, have you checked to see if you have enough gas from the regulator to give a decent flame?

If yes, then I was caught with this very problem last year. My previous trip was for 5 months and never used the gas cooker so sorta expected everything to be OK. Got to Coral Bay and the darned thing wouldn't burn any better than an igniter. Mmmm, got gas. Mmmmm, got gas flow, I wont expand on this as some people don't understand LPG. Mmmmm, get piece of wire and poke into connection point for cooker. It came out mucky so I made a bit of a hook and fished-out some sorta bug-nest from that copper tube. Dunno how long it'd been there, but sure weren't letting much gas passed. Yip, had a cooked meal that night after-all.

Have also heard of bugs nesting in the water-tank breather, which can cause filling problems.

Good luck

I own a Pioneer Argyle SE camper which has the same stove and Ihave had no problems with the gas flow but Ihave made a good foldable wind break to go around the complete stove which has helped very much.Iwould say you have a blocked jet or jets somewhere.

I also have an Argyle SE and had to adjust the gas regulator which fixed the problem.
