CREB Track Feedback

Apparently it is not recommended.
The track is also closed - I have been told indefinitely but here different stories so it may not matter anyway.

Depends solely on the state of the track. A shower of rain can turn sections of it as slippery as a butchers ------. I have personally come accross a Patrol on its roof on the track. I have traversed it several times, and I myself would not tow a camper on it. I know others who have and had no dramas.

We did the CREB last year in Sept and towed a CT with us with no drama but I was in Low 1st a couple of times. Olny a few places where the woopdy doos make a reasonable grade interesting and although it was damp in places we had plenty of traction.
Would not want to be on it if it was real wet. Judge the conditions at the time you are going and if it is dry it is worth the effort to take the track.
I did it with an 80 series petrol and a CT that weighed about 850KG.

Possible but certainly not recommended. Would have to be one of the most slippery tracks in Oz when wet. Even if the weather looks good when you arrive it will often be still wet from the week before making the decision to go difficult.
A couple of options would be to wait at the start of the track for someone to come through to get the latest conditions or drop the camper at Bloomfield & slip up to the Roaring Meg Falls for a taste of the track as a side trip.
