Hi all am in the market to buy a Redarc dual battery isolator, just need to know how they are wired up as three people have told me 3 different ways. I wanna do it all myself as i will save some money for fuel fro my Gibb trip. What i can gather from online is that there are only 2 cables that are fed to the Isolator, 1 from the starting battery and 1 from auxilary. Also does the negative from the auxilary earth to the car or engine block or do i feed connect this back to the starting battery negative? Do i need to fuse both positive cables coming from isolator with a 100amp maxi fuse or anl fuse? Batteries are mounted end to end and cables wont be more then 60cm long. Vehicle is Landcruiser 75 Diesel and its the 100amp redarc isolator.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you plan on using the jump start feature you can't use fuses.
The instructions in the box are quite good and you can download a copy from redarc.com.au
It is a simple VSR and DIY is the way to go.

Derek.

Absolutely right, will definitely be buying off Derek.
So Derek all i would need is some 3B&S cable with some lugs and battery terminals and the isolator will be all set to go, plus with the free push button thats included what wiring do i need to get that hooked up. Do i need the 3 B&S or way smaller cable?
Auto electronics really does my head in. I get the idea of it all just like to be really sure that i am doing it right the first time.

Hi Tukka
3 B&S made up cables ready to go is best.
VSR type isolators are very easy to wire up.

Derek

I have a Redarc in my Patrol, it's a quite reliable unit in comparison to what I had prior. Very simple install, just follow the advice above and download the instructions from the internet.
