Thanks to advice on ths forum we have settled on a 'New' 2nd hand 15 footer and are off to somewhere end of July with our old Ridgeback to see if it works.

We have been told Glenbawn Dam west of Newcastle is not bad provided your away from fishing comps, when it is quite and not many around to hear me swearing as I put up the full annex for the first time.

Any clues fellow adventurers?

Kind Regards

Yep a nice spot. After you go through the gates and pay your money keep going for a couple of k's, the further you go the better it gets. Don't fall into the trap of camping right near the entrance. But once you reach the fishing club you have gone about as far as you can go. Have a good trip.

Thanks tessa, I'd say we will be rugged up well. Apparently the area can get a dusting of snow around the end of July. All we have to do now is to start selling off the furniture to fill the tanks of the old Cruiser.

Hi Seakervan

Glenbrawn Dam is a lovely place, beautiful sunny days, but will get very cold at night, rug up and get the fire going.
Good choice and have a great trip.

Cheers Robert.

Thanks Bill & Robert for your advice. Much appreciated.

Yes Bill, I have dragged the van out of the shed and had annex walls, poles and framework spread over an area big enough to get the big picture. The misses said it looks pretty straight forward. My job will be to fit the higher bits and she will 'supervise' the rest so I think I'm out of trouble. Its all fun at the end of the day anyway.

Hope to have a fire going 'el-pronto' It will be frosty at best.

Best Regards
