Sorry if you are all sick of this subject but I just used Sir Kev's link to check on the vote numbers against these cats and got a no go.
' Unfortunately the following page was not available'
I searched the site got their home page and found they have altered the name of the thing and the site addy.
Almost like they don't want folks to be able to vote against these things !
( There is now also a ' support for ' vote page ! )
To vote against is now called
Review the importation and breeding of Savannah cats in Australia
and it was here
http://www.gopetition.com.au/petitions/savannah-cats.html
Promise I won't bother you all again on this subject !
cheers, Anne

i sent the link to every contact i know on the basis that do you want your kids to ever see anything smaller than a kangaroo?
They must never be allowed into Australia and all current savannah cats must be neutered.
Post here anyone that can't find the petition.
I want to take my almost 4ry old to Bunjalung next month to meet some bandicoots, don't start me on the threat of savannah cats.

The one bit of good news related to this is the a feline selective poison is being trialed at the moment. Hopefully if the trials show that it kills felines and nothing else they can start widespread baiting programs to reduce the numbers. I don;t know if they have tested it on savanna cats though
SHMBO works in the field but won't give me the formula so I could start some local trials in my neighborhood :-)

I fully support the breeeding and release of Sumatran Tigers in to the
Daintree to assist in the removal of the Commercial Developments that are there all ready hidden by 20 mtrs of "rainforest"....
