Good camping

I wouldn't say good camping spots but there are places to camp if you look hard and are careful. Keep well away from any settlements and find someplace well off the road where your lights, fire and reflections aren't visible so as not to attract any undesirables.

You are very probably safer than walking the dog at home ! There are several good spots to do an overnighter along that route. Take the above advice re choosing one.

Must agree with Ken, "pushing through to Rabbit Flat" may not
necessarily give you better camping. We found it not to our taste
last year. An acre of gravel covered in charcoal wasnt that appealing. We camped in a road maintenance area about 25k
short of the WA border, on the left. If thats too far, find something similar before RF........oldbaz.

we camped at mt Doreen ruins there is a water hole near by the ruins are a couple of hundred metres off the road on the right approx 60 km past Yuendumu very peaceful
