What have you towed along the Bore Track, Ok my 1978 Viscount has an up grade suspension, and has a clearance of 280 mm under the axle, so I suppose WILL I be dragging the axle thru the sand What do you all think? I would really like to do it !!!!!!

Bruce don't worry about dragging your axle it will grade the road smoother for those that come along behind you (maybe me) Lol.

The Bore Track basically goes South from Innamincka to Bollards Lagoon just West of Cameron Corner in the North East Of South Australia. It crosses private property but has a reputation as being a beautiful drive.
It is known as THE Bore track and I am not aware of any other having that name.

Hello there Bruce and while I would not take a conventional van along the Bore Track, I would not hesitate to take one with a decent suspension. It was by no means challenging a couple of weeks ago and not even any sand drifts on the track. Not even corrugations. Just take it easy and you will enjoy it. The northern end is through pretty shailey country but with proper tyre pressures it will not be a problem. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Hi again beachbum, just read your blog sounds like you had a great trip. But I just wanted to ask how Emu Park is these days, we use to live in Yeppoon (born and breed) up till a couple of years a go before coming down to Nanango. We hope to do a trip up that way in the Sept school hols. Again thanks for your input.
