Interesting article about the above, in the July edition of "Silicon Chip" electronics magazine. Dispells a few myths, and would be handy for someone planning a new system.

Just bought a 20amp Solar Regulator from Jaycar today for $70.00. here's the link. Checking the voltages, it seems to work fine.

glen we use those regulators on the solar panels at the farm for water pumping and electric fence units combined with remote radio switching control gear for the irrigation
we have 11 solar pumping setups and 7 electric fence and irrigation units
the solar pumps have 3 80w panels amd the others have 2 60w panels
we just wish we had changed to solar sooner
