Hi Mark
In Parallel.
Use at least 6 B&S cable and an isolator. DBi-120 or SBi12.
Fuse both ends and use Anderson Plugs at the tow bar.
I have written an article on this.
Charge Article

Derek.

Mark
I assume the fridge and lights are in the Camper Trailer, so put the two batteries in the Camper Trailer too.
Wire them close together in parallel, and use thick battery cable, I would not use less than 25mm² (3 B&S)
I use 32mm² (2 B&S) as shown in my battery picture below.
With a cable length of 6 Mtrs from Alternator to battery you would loose some %% and probably have about 11.8 Volts at rear battery with thinner cable.
Use a Redarc battery isolator or similar (low priced) isolator, you must use some form of battery isolator, even if it's just a manual on/off switch, to avoid draining the starting battery.
Use a fuse on each possitive cable at each battery.

Put the batteries in the camper ( I have
mine in a box on the draw bar) That way you can uncouple the car and camper and still have power in the camper
