Hi,
the valves on my 93 4Runner are starting to get noisy. My mechanic suggested that I go to a Toyota dealer to get them adjusted since he was not setup to do the job.
The adjustment is by the use of shims - any ideas on what it would cost me - I am located in Eastern Suburbs,
Melbourne? Is it really that hard to do!
cheers
Rhinoman...

Thanks for that, I too have a manual - I guess I was trying to find out why my mechanic did not want to do the job (ie too hard!)

Probably because he will need a full Toyota shim kit. Each valve is shimmed independantly - and there are a lot of different thickness shims. The Toyota dealers will have the shim kits.
