I have been told that some of the Hema Aussie road atlas will show you free overnight stops and also how long you are allowed to stay there. Does anybody know which one has this feature? I found one that shows the stops but doesn't tell you how long.

Camps Australia Wide as mentioned does have the road atlas and a listing of camps. See Camping Guides in the shop and look for the Camps Auatralia Wide products you will see the many variations of the products on this link.

Good luck.

Camps Australia Wide is the book you want. It is basically the road atlas with the stops marked with a referenxce number that you look up to get the detail including if overnight is permitted. Even the map numbers are the same as the Hema Road Atlas. We have found the descriptions to be overly optermistic from time to time. Shade sometimes means a shelter over a bench with not a tree in sight!
