Well it has been a long time coming and planning, but we are now counting the days (8 sleeps) till we hit the road and head for Cameron's Corner.
We are leaving next Thursday from Gosford NSW with a 19ft van behind us and heading to Dubbo,
Cobar,
Broken Hill,
Tibooburra, Corner,
Bourke,
Lightning Ridge, and then home (17 days all up).
After reading lots of forums,
blogs and ideas from exploroz, I am sure we have a good plan (unless it rains :( then we will be stuck) with 2-4 day stops in
Broken Hill,
Tibooburra,
Bourke and
Lightning Ridge so we have time to suck in that clean, fresh, and by looking at the temps out their, cold air.
We have timed our trip to enjoy a real country event at the Milparikna Gymkhana on Sat 12th and the kids are really looking forward to seeing how real country kids have some fun.
We plan on staying in Caravan Parks along the way except for
Bourke - Kidmans
Camp and
Lightning Ridge -
Lorne Station. Hoping to have a slightly different experience here.
Anyway, just a quick thanks to all those bloggers out their who have shared their experiences that have helped me to plan our first big trip outback.
Will fill you in when we get back mid July....
Alison & Scott + 2
PS Did I mention we can't wait to go....

Scott,
hope you all enjoy yourself and hang on over
the humps, may want to use a sand flag as a safety for on coming vehicles.
take care
Pistol.

Hi Scott, I am doing a similar trip starting from just down the road (near Wyong) leaving 4th. Might see youn in
Broken Hill. From there I am heading up to
Innamincka for the 'gathering' before heading back via
Lightning Ridge. FYI I heard that there is a carnival or something similar in Tiboorburra during the school hols. You miight want to check it out if looking for real country things for the kids.
Enjoy
Fred

Have a good trip Scott, I will keep an eye out for you.
I will be getting ready for Innaminka.
Great Gymkana at
Milparinka. Make sure you climb Mt. Poole too.
Shouldn't be any snow up there.
Around the area
Corner Country
