Hey Syd,

We travelled through the Cape from 2-18 June.

Stuck pretty much to the PDR, with a few side trips.

The road from Lakeland Downs to Weipa and to the Tip were all pretty good, except for the northern section of the Heathlands bypass road (from the Captain Billy's turn off, north back to the intersection with the Telegraph track).

However, they were about to start work on that section of the road not long after we went through, I understand.

All roads were good, but the road appeared to be deteriorating, with a few bulldust ruts starting to pop up.

Didn't do too much of the Telegraph track, but from reports we received, there weren't too many drama's there either.

Hi Syd,
we were up there last week. Battle Camp Road form Cooktown was in very good condition, the second half was a bit corrugated with the odd dust hole. Generally speaking all the roads we used were in much better condition than we expected, with a lot of road works taking place. However we could notice how some of the roads had changed in just a couple of weeks. Just drive to the conditions and you will have a ball!
