Hi , I have a 23`Forest River 5th wheeler I am considering trading the lot Toyota Hi-Lux 4x4 Turbo and Van for a good off roader and Tow vehicle pref a Toyota 4.0 Ltr 4x4
been looking at Bushtracker bit expensive also Kedron, Trackmaster, Phoenix etc there are so many out ther now I am looking at going way outback and its a long term thing so I need something comfy I am traveling solo so i dont think i need a real huge monster but I do like space inside in case of bad weather and storage lots of gear, have heard the Trackmaster is just as good as Bushtracker as for body strength and durability and Kedron are very stong constuction as
well decisions decisions,, Thanks

I have had a Kedron TopEnder for 20 months now, been across the Gulf,
Oodnadatta Track and various
places in between - around 25,000k's and love it. No issues whatsoever.
Well built, very comfortable and nice people to deal with.
Google Kedron Owners Group - KOG and have a look at the
Forum - great place to learn.

Top of the tree...Phoenix and Bushtracker...quickly followed by Kedron and Trackmaster.....come up with the bread and you can have one and take it anywhere....go to RVpoint and check the second hand list....the above all come with serial numbers so you can back check them with the makers

Agreed with the makes mentioned - all have a good reputation - I'm putting my eggs in the Trakmaster basket next year, after a lot of homework - but if you are interested in used, there are quite a lot of units on the market currently - RV Point, Trading Post and in the trader here etc. ....... there may be a lot more on offer soon if fuel stays crazy...... as for resale values in a few years ? hmmmm ...............

Brad
we've been looking at the same ones - I don't suppose I'm making any great revelations here but have a look at the Supreme Getaway. Comes in the usual range of sizes/layout and equipment levels. Looks rugged enough to me, if not quite as rugged as the Kedrom, BT and TM but a bloody sight lighter to tow. Oh, and cheaper. I'm not knocking those big vans and I suppose it comes down to where you want to go with em but I had a look at my local dealer and really think they'd stand up to the rough stuff. Just my two bob's worth

Guys I agree with what has been said and like most did the research for about two years (getting the information and money together). when the time was right managed to pick up a great 5 month old Supreme Territory and could not be happier, been all over -next stop NT.

we also were drawn towards the Territory more than the Getaway. I suppose I took his "off road" literally. The big dilemma for us all is, do we pack the tent and leave the van at
Cooktown or go for something that will go thru Gunshot etc without damage - or even put it thru those ccccorrrrrrrruggggatttttttions along the Developmental Rd ??

G'Day Brad, Have a look at the Sunland web site. They make dirt road and "Off Road" versions. I have the dirt road
Longreach 17'6" single axle and it's built strong as with high clearance. Tows
well and stops in a straight line and is a quality custom build unit. Factory is at Caboolture,
Brisbane. Ph 0754989332, speak with John or Roy, top team. No I'm not on commission but they build a good van.
