I have just used this section of ExplorOz to check mileage between
Windorah &
Quilpie.It gave a distance of 380k's & showed a route via Welford
Lagoon & Advale.
I haven't been out this way for 8 years. Is the Diamantia Dev road still the shortest route between these two towns?

The hema road atlas shows a solid red line with 248 alongside it. Why use a travel planner for this simple journey? ? ?

Quilpie couple of weeks ago (Couldn't get to bridsville beacuse roads were closed...darn... so had to go home on tar!) Dev road is the go!

I was showing my
young grand son how to look up maps on this site & we used Windorah/
Quilpie as an example.I knew the Dev road was the normal route however couldn't work out why the route directions deviated from the main road.
We will be coming home from
Birdsville late July.
