We got a bit of work on a large sheep property. The old man was doing the bail pressing, the old lady was the
cook, and I got the job picking up the cutting and putting in on the Classing table. Bit of sweeping also.
There was also a shirla there that I fell in love with. Only problem was, I was around thirteen and she must have been the ripe old age of twenty.
Come Saturday night we headed off to town for a bit of a good time. She sat in the front of the Ute with a good looking shearer an totally ignored me bouncing around in the back.
Next day I gave quite a bit of juvenile thought how I was going to fix this fella up. Then it came to me.
On this property they also ran cattle. Went and had a talk to the old man.
We strung a animal to the tree, then the old man invited the fella to watch the butcher. Making sure he stood in a particular spot. The old man then bled the animal through
the neck. Guess who copped a fair shower.
The fella's were clapping me on the back and thought the whole thing hysterical.
Unfortunately the girl took a bit of a dim view of this carry on, and left the station that day. Buggar!
Took a walk out to the dam and tried to figure out what I did wrong....
Regards
Kim

Kim, if you had to butcher an animal every time you became jealous of another bloke, I'm not surprised :)
Personally I just figured that if they preferred another bloke then it was their loss and my gain.
Cheers
