That's it, I've done my timesheet and I've finished work til 18th August 2008.
Now all we have left to do is get organised for the National gathering and beyond - so much to do and so little time. Getting the Nissan serviced tomorrow (oil, filters, new belts and hoses etc), trying out the newly fitted HF, checking and packing the Trak Shak, arranging for someone to
water pot plants and collect mail blah blah.
I think I have the majority of prizes for fishing, casting and horseshoe comps sorted and, with luck, I'll be able to bring a bit of firewood as
well (that depends on the property owners being home so they can cut the logs and have them at their place)
Is there anything I've forgotten ??? please tell me
Cheers

Re the firewood - here's anothe roption for you to consider
I go to Bunnings and buy the 100% recycled fire logs they sell - really good - hot as - seem to burn longer - cost about $6.25 for 10 - 12 logs.
I think they are excellent value for money

Reminds me, about time to cut down another tree for next winter.
Have been planting 1 to 2 trees a year for the past 15 years, and cut one done when it is about 10 years old. As my wife says, a major prune, to ground level. :o) Have so many trees forgotten what the view used to look like.
Works
well for me.
Oh yeah, we are 9km from
Brisbane CBD, in the middle of surburbia.
Also do a bit of free tree
clearing for friends. Prefer hardwood but even mango trees are not too bad.
Why buy when you can recycle?

Good offer footy,
Next door neighbour just spent $150.00 on firewood.
Now lets see, how much fuel would it cost to bring the wood back from your place :o))
Now if I could get the car running on timber, I would be right.
But then every one else would do it and the cost of timber would go up.

Just hang around John, with the price of fuel forever on the rise, we will have a regression back to steam powered cars shortly.
There was another system used during the war.
charcoal powered cars

Stu,
Could a few things going yet to replace oil based fuels.
Son is doing a doctorate in nanotechnology, in particular hydrogen storage for vehicles using fuel cells. Few things coming, but a few years off. Fuel cells may have a break through soon once they get the membranes under 14 molecules thick, or so I am told.

If you want to come up here I have found a good pile of firewood.......................... 3 x 4 bedroom high set house stumps that have been demolished and the posts have been left behind.
Don't forget to pack the Bundy.

Thank you all for the tips and info. I'll try the property owners soon and se what happens. Otherwise a trip to Bunnings might be in order.
See you all out there
Cheers
