I have narrowed choice to Cooper STT,s or Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ in 285 75 16. Any suggestions which one will be better suited to Vic mud, as both come from same factory

Whilst Coopers own Mickey Thompson now, I am under the impression they DONT come from the same factory.
Anyway, I run the same size you are looking at, being the MTZ's. I have various type tyres, including MTR's, & have found the MTZ's the best. Excellent in the mud, very good on road, even if a bit noisey. My Micey T 'MTX's' are superior on the black stuff, but in reality comparing M/T's to A/T's is like comparing apples to oranges.
Must admit not as good as the MTR's on rocky stuff, but overall nothing to complain about.
Never run the STT's, but have a few mates who have & said they would never buy them again. Various reasons from being average on road & nothing to rave about in the mud.
At least you have narrowed your choice down to 2 tyres & everyone will have an opinion, or suggest you try something else.
Cheers

Thank you
I am leaning towards the MTZ's as quite a few tyre retailers (independant of total affiliation with a particular Brand) have recommended STT's and MTZ's but say that a lot of club members are laening towards MTZ's.
Cheers Andre

If you know the problems with coopers eg lugs coming off, then why would you waste your money on them!

Were like a lot of other people who have Coopers and have not had a problem.

I run MTZs on my Lux and am very happy with them. So much so, when I upgrade to 33s (currently 31s) I will buy another set. They work
well in mud and rock and do fine in sand off-road. On road they are not that noisy and handle the wet
well.
I know a few people running them and they all love em.
