I was considering a 4.15 metre Horizon dinghy to be able to use in coastal conditions for fishing and scuba Dive from. I was planning to carry this on a soft top camper trailer and use it on a normal boat trailer when not away. It weighs 170kg but this can be reduced by 22kg by removing the floor. I thought maybe a boat winch on the camper drawbar could be used to winch it on after the boat has been turned upside down and the bow lifted onto a rear carry bar.

Its a bit out of the normal but has anyone done this and how successful
was it. I have been told I can have a fold up boat trailer made to suit this to be used for short distances and this would weigh 100kg.

Any information appreciated

We carry a 3.95m quintrex dart on our soft top camper. We also wanted something a bit bigger for coastal areas. The reason we chose the quintrex was due to it's light weight (95kg). We haven't designed a winch system yet for getting it on and off, but it is in the pipeline and I would be interested to hear if anyone else has. I pop riveted some teflon skids onto the boat racks which makes it easy to slip on and off in the mean time.
