Hi all
Having removed the 2nd row seats in my GU wagon, I'm looking at storage options like the Black Widow Twin floor system and some suitabley size boxes for storing all sorts of crap for extended touring. Looking at the above system, it seems as though the 2nd row/floor is only about 20cm higher than the first level which seems to reduce its usefulness. Can anyone comment on this and what they stuff in there or have done. Alternatively are there any other commercially available units (I'm not very handy).

Also looking for some boxes that will withstand the rigours of outback travel to store spares, oil, & packaged food, fruit etc (not in the same box). I've seen the arb units - which are pricey. Not sure they need to be that robust.

Suggestions?

cheers
Mike

Hmm. Interesting that they say they've replaced the bed extension system because it was found to be unsafe.

I would have thought they'd then be obliged to recall it and replace it.

Iv'e got the Black Widow in the very back. For the middle, I made up a floor that is in two parts, one you can put a seat back in for a third passenger.

This floor holds the fridge, water, gas bottle (in a crate) one bow with lid for bits etc & hanging clothes.

On top of the black Widow are more boxes with lids, swag, bedding, tent, tarps etc.

A roof rack takes care of the boat. All works well.

Mike,

We do all sorts of designs. Possibly the simplest way out of it is a full length set of drawers like the one we do for Troopies, $1250.

We've also done units that have a bed extension with storage underneath.

If you'd like to give me a call I can talk you through the options 03 9706 6527.

Regards,

Jim.

Look at your rego also, if the removal of the second row is permanent your rego can be redused from 8, 5, to 2 reduces the cost, once sets are replaced inform transport and all things back to normal, no costs incured. Insurance disclosures come into it once seats removed or added. All this is governed by your vin tag which states seating capacity. Col
