Sadly I unloaded my vehicle today as my departure has been white anted.

Early last year I had white ants visit the ensuite and I was confident I caught them before to much damage was done. We are about to do a major renovation which was to start on my return so did not bother last year.

Of course with a day spare I simple got to smart for myself and pulled the room apart figured I get it all ready to simply rebuild on my return. What I found was damage to a couple of structural members which must be replaced. No biggie until the plumber called last night and said he will come on Saturday and check his part out and can fit us in next week.

As I have not dropped the ceiling I best do that tomorrow hopefully no issue up there.

Plumbers are not easy to get and I know how busy he is so I must get my part done before he starts so figured I better get the ensuite back together before wife returns from her holiday.

So have a great time all I'll have to join the rest and wait for the stories.

Brian

I agree. Work can wait - you will not always get a chance to do a trip, I would go and worry about that when you got back. Cheers

Bugger. I have not had my house sprayed since the producer of the film "babe" told me that they were sick of all the black ants in their house, never bit them but were annoying. They had the house gassed for about $1k. A year later the white ants had moved in, $100,000 worth of damage. The pest controller at that time said if the previous pest controller had not killed all the black ants the white ants would never have come in ...

Hi Brian

Take it from an Old Plumber, if you have stripped the walls ect,
just replace the bottom plates and noggings ect, get the Plumber
to do a Rough In with the pipe work, wont take long for that.
Put your self in the truck and go to the gathering.

ps The Cook will be pleased you made a start on it lol.

Cheers
Daza

Your proberly right its more a pain in the ass hmmm and (wallet) at least I know the extent of the damage now after dropping the ceiling today.

Not to bad just a shi% to replace 2 studs, 1 window head, 1 rafter, 1 ceiling joist and the window jambs.

Try and get all the frame work out and back in tommorrow and see how I go from there, may escape yet.

Pleased I don't have to pay someone to do it.

Brian
