Willem
Harry Dutton, a
Kapunda grazier, and Murray Aunger, an
Adelaide Motorcar Dealer, drove their
Talbot car from
Adelaide to
Darwin in 1908 stopping off at
Peterborough along the way. The journey took 51 days.
Today we will see part of the re-enactment of the journey when the car arrives here in
Peterborough at about 1.30pm. It is being taken all the way to
Darwin aboard a trailer with an interpretive display for public inspection.
I will go down there a bit later and take some pics.
Cheers

G'day John and Suz
You certainly do get around. Anyway should be nice and warm there compared to the cold and bleak down here.
Yes that pic does include known specimens....lol
Enjoy the Cape
Cheers

Is this the car that's normally in the
Birdwood Mill? If so, I reckon there is a display there explaining the trip. I think it may be the one, but haven't been there for a few years.
BTW Willem, Secret Men's Business? No such thing, is there?
