Havent done a Hilux but have just done my 2005 Cruiser TD
Also put a 3" mandrel bent exhaust which gave more power increase than the chip
Details below
Red = standard
Blue = with Safari Dtronic chip
Green= With both
Goes better, turbo comes in earlier, heaps more grunt and no black smoke when putting boot into it.
Remember the figures are power at the
wheels not the flywheel as quoted in mfrs specs

GRaham,
Your graph shows exhaust and chip.I now have vehicle the same as yours.How much difference does just the 3 inch exhaust make as I dont want to fit a chip as yet or hadnt you tried them separately? Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You can get an idea from the graph as to how much difference the exhaust makes Itallows it to spool up faster and stay up longer.
The reason I didnt do it on its own was it was too much mucking around as the guys were busy.
May get it done in a couple of months when they get their 4 wheel dyno.
The exhaust is a DTSMandrel bent 3" aluminised steel and cost allup with the dyno and fitting$1100

explorer,
Fitted my 06 Hi Lux witha DP chip and sports exhaust.Makes a hell of adifference.Developed about 400 nm of torque compared to 343nm standard.Have been towing over two tonne with relative ease.Cost of chip is around $1200.Very easy to fit.Suggest that maybe the exhaust system should go hand in hand with the chip.
NOTE I beleive the Hi Lux October 06 onward has a different chip to the earlier model. Fuel economy remained about the same.
Cheers

Here is the link for the Safari Dtronic which I think is the better brand
http://www.safarisnorkel.com/dtronic/applications.htm
Go to applications as there are two for a 2006 hilux and you need to get the correct one

Have a DP chip in our 2005 Hilux and would not be with out it, better fuel economy, driveability and more usable power.
We tow a 1400Kg Trak Shak and the Hilux weighs 2700Kg, we get about 13. Lts per 100k sitting on 110Kph.
