Hi there

You won't have any probs getting pigs up there. we went up in '06 and were picking them off from the side of the road. If you go to the fishing club at Seisa on friday night, ( burgers and beer night, great burgers too ) ask for Rupenni. He's the biggest bouncer there. He took us out for the day, Knives and dogs only, no rifle's. He only charged us 20 ltrs diesel for his ute. We went back to his place later for a feed with his family. Really nice guy.

Hope you have a good trip..

Last year Ishot some nice boars on the way to the Cape but had permission to shoot on private property which can be difficult to obtain.I visited Bramwell station (well worth a visit with a good campground) and met the owner Wendy who was vey hospitable and after a bit of achat she gave me permission to shoot on the property so it mght be a place to try.It is a bit off the track but well worth going in as there is also a bar and restaurant there. You will find that unless you know the station owners it is not easy to get permission to shoot as there have been too many D**ck heads doing the wrong thing on other peoples property. As said you may get the odd pig on the side of the track but to get the decent boars you got to put in the time.

G'day Ryno,
We were in Seisia the other week and spent a great day with a guide - Jay Arnold 0417 617 458. He is one hell of a nice bloke, and really knows his business. Caught Barra, Jacks, Cod, Travelly and a 1.3m Jewie!
Couldn't recommend him highly enough.
Agree with the previous comment re Bramwell Station - very nice people and a great camp site & amenities.
Have a great trip
Cheers

like already said, plenty of pigs up the cape. we had one run right through our camp one night at chilli beach, scared the crap out of us cause we could hear something coming but couldn't see cause it was so dark. think it's part of iron range nat. park so i don't know if that effects weather you can hunt them though.
fishing wise, hann crossing is good for barra. came across a guy who gave me one of his fish cause he was one over the limit, he goes there ever year just to go barra fishing. pennefeather river just north of weipa is good also, if you can't catch a fish there then throw your rod in the bin. both these places are well known for their crocs, so keep that in mind when near the water, otherwise have fun.
