It so happens i had a look at the State Parks web site half an hour following a box on the home page of ExplorOz.
The answer is copied below and a couple of direct links too.

Q. Will I be able to light a fire?
A. Fires are allowed in designated campfire or BBQ areas only, at all times. In the event of a total fire ban, consult the individual parks.
I've not been there, but the kids went to a Sport & Rec
Camp there when they were at Primary School a couple of decades ago and reckoned it was lovely. Its only got 20% of
water capacity but that high for NSW dams at the moment.
Enjoy the trip

Thanks Max - Think we might give it a miss at this time of the year. If I can't have a campfire close to
camp then I'm not a happy camper - especially on cold winter evenings. Going to
Burren Junction for 3 days and decided to look else where for a few more days.
