have 4.2 deisel. Before I put turbo on ,had a slight blowby from the pcv . now with turbo on, i am still getting blowby with approx 1 tblspn oil every 1000 k's caught in air cleaner tray.
which is before the turbo.
To stop this oil mist from going into turbo, can i fit a catch can?

Sure can!! boom boom!
Seriously thats what all the ricers do but a better mod is to put a filter in the line that returns the oil to the engine sump.
I fitted this to my isuzu MU then to my Rodeo, its off a 4bd1T and the return line taps into the dipstick tube.
Works a treat and cleaned up the intake perfectly.

You can see the return line (small tube) and the tee piece was used to tap into the rocker cover oil return line to the dipstick.

Its off a 4bd1T (3.9L TD isuzu) from an isuzu truck.
There is no need to drain it...thats what the drain tube is for...you simply need to plumb it into a retun line to the sump.
You could make one with a plastic housing and a few fitting that are the same as the pcv lines on your vehicle similar to a catch can. Just fill it with the course pot scourers and fit a drain in the bottom.
When the air passes through the oil collects in the scourers and drips down into the bottom and back to the sump.
Matt.

If you search the archives I think you will find a thread on this. I reckon it was info someone got of the Patrol
forum. It was an interesting read and quite easy to do.
