Hi All,
Anyone been here to
camp for the night? Seen it in a mag a while ago? Looks ok. Looking for somewhere a bit different to
Wellington dam when down that way?
Matt

Hi Matt,
It was a few years ago, but i camped there one weekend with mates. was during summer. The lake i think used to be a large mining or
gravel pit. the
water is great to swim in.
Not a lot in the way of facilities that i remember, but definitely a nice enough place to
camp for a night or two.

Matt,
I remember that a few of the perth4x4.net boys had a trip there not too long ago (last 12months maybe). Might be worth doing a search of their
forum

Hi Matt
We went there to have a look and find a geocache on the way back from
Wellington Dam over the
Easter long weekend. People had left the bush and "
camping sites" in a really disgusting way, there was rubbish bags, cans, broken chairs and heaps and heaps of
toilet paper etc everywhere.
We went back again in May and it still looked disgusting. The lake itself looks nice and if it was clean it would be a great place to stay but I wouldn't
camp there just because of all the way it has been left.
There no facilities there but quite a few flat areas to
camp.
There are much nicer (in my opinion)
places at the back of
Wellington Dam.

Matt, it's nice and the
water is good especially in summer......however - give the place a miss on long weekends,
Easter, Xmas-New Year...........in fact pretty much any weekend. During the week is good. Took some tanks and spent some time under having a look - have done a few other x-
mine sites (be careful of the
water quality) and also had a look at
old Adaminaby many years ago though last Nov I drove and then walked out to where I had dived. rgds

Thanks Guys,
Not quite what I am after, as I read the report it was a bit of a trek to get in there. But found it on Google earth and is a bit too close to town for me. Thanks for the posts re rubbish and stuff. Will cross it off for
camping but maybe have a look next time I am down that way.
Ta Matt
