Gday

Has anyone visited Rowles Lagoon in the last few weeks.

With our better rain this year I am hoping the water level has improved compared to the last few years.

I am planning Rowles Lagoon as the first camp on a trip out to the Connie Sue and Anne Beadell with 10 vehicles but will bush camp further on if it is still a "mud hole".

Our next night is planned for the east end of the Old Laverton Rd short of the abandonded Mt Morgan Mine. I haven't been along this road for a few years. Can anyone confirm if "bush camping" is still easy around here or is it fenced like a lot of the main Laverton Rd?

Thanks & Regards

out there end of may - plenty of water, many ducks and even more flies.......better than a few years ago when it was dry. Stopped for the night West of Laverton near the old Murrin townsite - drive in a couple of kms behind the hills - rocky but found a reasonable place.......slept to the sound of a mine in the distance. Try Niagra Dam - nice place down the hill and right around to the left. also camped on the top of Snake Hill - great view over Lake Ballard. Enjoy the trip. rgds
Slow down and relax......

Hi Old Bushie,
Was on the Old Laverton Rd in early June, lots of places to pull off and camp all the way along it.
Its not fenced like the tar road, although it is still station country - so keep away from windmills etc.

wont be much water. has been very dry foer years in the feilds.
winter rain does little/nothing to fill it it needs cyclonic rains.
was last filled in around 2000 when a few cyclones and heavy summer rains saw it closed for months as it was so full.

last time i was there it had a foot or 2 in it and the time before i drove right accross it
