Back from staying near Anna Bay. Had a great time. Went out onto
Stockton beach at sunset. From top of huge sand
hill .....beautiful! Went again next day. Hardly a soul about. Did see rangers, poice and SES doing training. Got stuck in soft drift between vegetation. No one about. Good thing I bought some Maxtrax for peace of mind. Provided more than peace of mind. Popped out in a jiffy! They're beaut! Went almost to end of beach past wreck. Saw the pyramid
tank traps from WWII and Tin City. Went up what appeared to be highest dune. Saw a tour companyt Land Cruiser up there so followed their tracks. They said it was highest point.
Went out on 'Thunderaft' to see whales. One was leaping about. Fantastic! Boat roaring over waves fun. Went 'Parasailing' next day. Lovely.
Park I stayed at was Island Caravan
Park. Surrounded by bush, birds, possums (pesky at night) wallabies and koalas (didn't actually see any koalas)
Lovely active and restful holiday. I recommend the place.

Haven't been there since the new owners have taken it over.
Do you still get permits from the local servo in Anna Bay or Lavis Lane?

Much easier, I'm sure there other
places too but I only work 500 metres from ARB and a couple of k's from TJM.

We got our permit from the BP in Anna Bay.
The new owners were looking after the place as the managers were on holiday. They were very nice. Looked after our dogs for an afternoon so we could go out on the boat trip. They have plans for improving the place. It is a bit basic, but I like it that way.
