A good friend of
mine is considering fitting a Diesel Gas conversion on his GU 4.2 Turbo. He is primarily interested in economy rather than power. Has anyone done this conversion for this reason and how did it work out.
And before you ask "yes I have done a search"
Cheers
Col

We fit Diesel Gas weekly and can recommend it highly, we have reported figures of upwards of an extra 150K's out of diesel tanks on the GU and also the extra power is a bonus.
Has the exhaust or turbo been upgraded as that is a must do for any 4.2T owner for better power and economy for starters.
Email me if you want any more info.

to get the extra 150 ks you also have to put in 20-25 bucks
of gas so is it realy worth it

All depends on the circumstances of what you are doing with the vehicle, an extra $20 for a minimum of 150k's and the extra power i reckon it is
well worth it.
Dont you when the government is paying some of the bill????????????

Col,
I have had it done to my 4.2 Patrol and the results are amazing. It cost me $4500 for the conversion but got $2k back. I will never make this money up but the power, torque and economy is
well worth it. I am currently doing a trip around Australia and I am getting approx 300klm extra out of the standard tanks. Don't forget there is another 27lt of gas going into this. I have also had the Motson upgrade and 3inch exhaust. AMMS have also tweeked a few things and this also helped. We are towing a Goldstream camper and have boat on the roof so all up this is a heavy unit. We are currently getting in the 13lts of diesel / 100 and 3lt of gas. I can not recommend this conversion enough although if I had my time again I would not go back to the installers that I went to in Bris and their workmanship was very ordinary with exhaust mods and loose wiring etc.
