Partner was using printer and because it was running off more copies than wanted, she switched it off to stop it, rather than going to the control panel or shortcut to printer and stopping it properly. Also pulled out a sheet of paper that was half way through print Very Stoopid.
Now the red paper light is constantly on and nothing will get it going again . (have been in to C P and cleared it)
has anyone got any idea how to kickstart it or is it stuffed.
Bought another one just in case so can I get the partly used cartridge out of the first one and put it in the new printer?
Where are you Gerhardp 1 ? You are a printer guru.

Try disconnecting the printer from power and PC, unplug both leads. Wait 30 seconds, and plug back in. This should delete any waiting jobs that the printer has in memory.
For the paper jam, open printer cover, remove and replace toner cartridge, close printer cover, all should be good.

Hi there,
Did you fully yank the page out or is some of it still in there? Turn the printer off then open the front door and carefully remove the toner cartridge. Follow the instructions in your manual (section 5 if I recall). Check that no paper still jammed in there. BEWARE it may be very hot inside and you can get burnt. Make double sure you have the printer turned off, preferably remove the power cable first to be doubly sure.
All the best

Try holding the 'power' button down till all lights flash through a cycle and back to green.

Thanks Guys,
There's definitely no remmnant of paper in there but it won;t clear the paper warning light no matter what I do.
Will push it to one side while I hook up another one. For $70 new it's not worth even getting somone to look at it.

Wouldn't this be a post more appropriate for an IT website like www.whirlpool.net.au?
